Ron Willis

Ron Willis is an associate of TranSystems|The ACCESS Group with over 25 years of experience in various industries including consumer goods, heavy fabrication, automotive, contract stampings, HVAC, tool & die, farm equipment, towing equipment, and fire protection products.  Ron has held positions as a senior manufacturing engineer, tooling manager, and many project management and project engineering roles. Ron has worked with companies such as Dover, Delta Faucet, Kongsberg Automotive, Tyco, Grinnell, Bushhog Corporation, Carrier Corporation, and Eaton Corporation.

Ron is an accomplished project manager and project engineer with extensive experience in plant startups and new product startups.  He has developed assembly work cells, including the design of tools and fixtures, using both lean and six sigma methods such as 3P, 5S, and Poka Yoke.  He has led several capital projects to select, manage, and install new equipment for new processes or to improve existing processes.  Ron possesses strong CAD skills, including AutoCAD 14/2000 and Solid Works, and he has applied these skills in developing and designing both layouts and tools.  Ron began his career as a tool & die maker/tool designer and thus he has a hands-on, comprehensive knowledge of this trade. In a Manufacturing Engineer role,  Ron’s assignments have included new plant startup, shop floor problem solving, improving machining & welding operations, increasing throughput on assembly lines, and improving a powder paint operation. Ron has been project manager of two large-scale plant relocations including to Mexico. Ron has vocational teaching experience having taught machine shop, math, and blueprint reading. He has experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming. He has experience with large-scale production line modifications as a chief project engineer this including preparing punch list, Gantt charts, and plant layout drawings. Ron has excellent cognitive, interpersonal, team implication and team leadership skills. He is a seasoned professional who portrays both hands on and leadership characteristics.

Ron studies, at the college level were with the Warren National University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has completed the Toyota manufacturing lean courses, AutoCAD, Hydraulics, PLC, Motion and Time study. Ron is a SME certified manufacturing engineer.
